Our Summer Staff
Our summer staff is comprised of 10 college-aged young people who are dedicated to Grace Point and its campers. Many of our staff have grown up as campers here, and serving on summer staff is a way for them to give back to the community. Take a moment to get to know our staff before heading out to camp this summer!
Yo! I’m Mackenzie Kelly, and I am super excited to be one of the staff leaders at Grace Point this summer. I recently graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with my Masters in Public Administration. I love all things outdoors, I believe music has the power to change lives, and I find happiness in goofy smiles and big hugs. I feel most at peace with myself at Grace Point, and I look forward to sharing this special feeling with campers, counselors, and fellow staff members this summer! Bring on the silly smiles and loud laughter! Fins up!
Hey, friends. My name is Devin Badgett. I’ll be one of your trusty staff leaders this summer. I’ve been coming to Grace Point since I could walk and I’ve got a lot of love for this place and what it’s capable of doing. I’m certain that this summer is going to be just as incredible as the rest. We are all stoked to make memories with you this summer...and I’ll see you on the four square court. Cheers.
Howdy gang! My name is Riley Dugan and I'm coming back for my second summer here at Grace Point! I am currently the youth leader at St. Paul's in Athens, TN. I often get complimented on how I am a calming presence and never am too rambunctious... or do I? I absolutely just love running around and being as silly as possible. Because here at Grace Point we believe you should be your true self, and shouldn't be ashamed of it. I love Ultimate Frisbee, starting the wave, Lake-Quidditch, being a referee, kayaking, hiking, and playing guitar in the chapel. If you ever have a good joke to tell, please do not hesitate to tell it to me. I'm looking forward to another great summer in a wonderful place! Peace!
Hi! I'm Kat Lewis! I like kickin' it in the art barn and playing four square at camp. I've been a camper at GP for longer than crocs have been cool, and I am excited to come back for my second summer on staff! I am a student at Macalester College in the thriving, cosmopolitan tundra of Saint Paul. My favorite activities include dog sledding to class and eating freshly ice-fished cheese curds with a side of -20 wind chill.
My name is Robert Whitaker and I live in Chattanooga. I go to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. This is my second year on staff. My favorite part of camp is Waterfront. I’m excited to have my baby brother Henry on staff this year. Can’t wait to see you this summer!
Hello ladies and gents! My name is Ashton Babb and I am pumped to be at Grace Point this summer on staff. I attend Appalachian State University in Boone North Carolina (GO NEERS) and will be a Junior in the fall. This is my second year on staff and I am super excited to be back at camp! My favorite spot at camp is our art barn and I am always ready to be crafty! If you cant find me in the art barn I'm probably "helping" in the kitchen with Tammy or just eating an extra dessert! My motto is, “summer isn't summer if you are not at camp”!
Hey y’all my name is Sydney Broussard and I can’t wait to be on staff this summer! I am a born and raised Vol, so naturally I got to school there! I am currently working toward a degree in Public Relations with a minor in American Sign Language. I have been going to Grace Point since I was eight years old, and it has been a dream of mine to be on staff since as long as I can remember. While not at camp, I love hiking, spending time with loved ones, being artsy (with a side of fartsy), and doing adventurous things! If you ever find yourself with a funny joke and stumble into good-ole Kingston, TN let me know, because I would love to hear ‘em. Can’t wait to see your smiling faces at GP this summer!
Hi, friends! My name’s Addison Jones, and I cannot wait to hang with ya all summer long! I’ve been calling Grace Point home for going on seven years, and I can’t stop smiling from excitement about being one of your staffers this summer. Come hang with me during morning singing if you’re looking for a good time, and if you ever need some sunscreen or a La Croix, I’m your girl! If I were a fortuneteller, I would tell you that I see lots of belly laughs, big ole smiles on sun kissed faces, silly dancing, life giving conversations, late night star gazing, early morning sunrises, and the sweetest of summer days in your future if you come spend some time with us at GP this summer. I’m not a fortuneteller, but I am studying English in hopes of being the coolest high school English teacher you ever met (bc skool iz co0l). That’s all I’ve got folks, see you this summer at the most magical place for the best week(s) of your life!
My name is Henry Whitaker and I just graduated from McCallie School in Chattanooga. I am going to MTSU this fall to study Music Business. Some of my favorite things about Grace Point are the music, the games, and the best of all: my brother who is on staff with me this summer! Can’t wait to meet you!
Howdy, my name is Thad Barrington! I’m about to begin my sophomore year at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. I’ve been going to summer camp for about 8 years and I’m excited to begin my new chapter at Grace Point this summer! I love to be goofy and I’m pretty good at being tall. I can’t wait for this summer!
