Our Summer Staff

Our summer staff is comprised of 10 college-aged young people who are dedicated to Grace Point and its campers. Many of our staff have grown up as campers here, and serving on summer staff is a way for them to give back to the community. Take a moment to get to know our staff before heading out to camp this summer!

Caroline Wood

Hi everyone! My name is Caroline Wood and this will be my fourth summer at Grace Point!! I graduated from Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg, FL, in May and I am super excited to move to Tennessee and go back to school for my GIS certificate! In other words, I will be making maps. One of my favorite things to do at Grace Point is to either watch the stars or watch thunderstorms roll in. My favorite desserts are Ms. Tammy's cookies and brownies. This summer, I'm really excited for fresh veggies from the garden and fresh eggs from our chickens!!

Mackenzie Kelly

Yo!  My name is Mackenzie Kelly.  I am currently in Graduate School at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, but I am originally from Magee, Mississippi.  I have been around Grace Point since the year it opened, and I am super excited to spend yet another summer at my favorite place in the world.  In my free time, I love to be outside.  Hiking, biking, golfing, camping, fishing, kayaking, skiing, and boating are a few of my favorite things to do!  I love good music, and I am a firm believer that it has the power to change lives.  Grace Point has a special place in my heart, because it is the place where I feel like I am most at peace with myself.  I look forward to sharing this special feeling with campers, counselors, and other staff members this summer.  I can't wait for a summer full of silly smiles and loud laughter! Fins up!

Kat Lewis

Hi! I'm Kat Lewis! I like kickin' it in the art barn and playing four square at camp. I've been a camper at GP for longer than crocs have been cool, and I am excited to finally make my Summer Staff debut! I am a student at Macalester College in the thriving, cosmopolitan tundra of Saint Paul. My favorite activities include dog sledding to class and eating freshly ice-fished cheese curds with a side of -20 wind chill.

Jack Wiggers

Hey everybody! I'm Jack Wiggers. This will be my first time serving on Grace Point summer staff, and I am absolutely stoked! I’ve lived in Knoxville for nearly 8 years, but I’m currently studying at The University of Alabama. Roll Tide! I’m an avid concert-goer, a big advocate for sparkling water, and I love spending time with my dog, Lily. Some of my favorite camp memories are playing capture the flag, sitting and singing around the campfire, and getting to know some of the people who have become my very good friends. I am filled with anticipation and excitement, as I get to be a part of all the incredible things that are happening at Grace Point this summer!

Becca Wood

Hi, friends! My name is Becca Wood and I am SO STOKED for this summer! This will be my second summer working at Grace Point, and I can’t wait for another fantastic summer. During the other months of the year, I attend Appalachian State (Go ‘Neers!) in the amazing Boone, NC, where I am working towards a degree in Recreation Management and a minor in Sustainable Development and Exercise Science. When I’m not studying, I love to play guitar, ukulele, and banjo, read Harry Potter, and go rock climbing, backpacking, and camping! I look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces this summer!

Devin Badgett

Greetings. My name is Devin Badgett. I’m from the distant town of Knoxville, TN. I attend school at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN where I am studying Contemporary Music. I’ve been a part of the Grace Point community since I was about 3 feet tall...which included all of my elementary and middle school career. It has been a dream of mine to be a part of the Grace Point summer staff for a great while, and I am pumped to be able to help create some sweet memories this summer. If you ever want to bring me some donuts on your way out, I will graciously accept your offer. Go Mocs.

Ashton Babb

Hello, my name is Ashton Babb and I am pumped to be at Grace Point this summer on staff. I attend Appalachian State University in Boone NC (GO NEERS) and will be a sophomore in the fall. I am an Elementary Education major and want to teach in third world countries. I have been going to Grace Point for 5 years as a camper and a counselor. Camp is my home and always will be. I love hiking, going on adventures and anything that involves paint or crafting. I am so excited to have fun with everyone this summer because it's going to be a blast. Summer isn't summer if you are not at camp.

Riley Dugan

Howdy gang! My name is Riley Dugan and I'm coming back for my second summer here at Grace Point! I am currently the youth leader at St. Paul's in Athens, TN. I often get complimented on how I am a calming presence and never am too rambunctious... or do I? I absolutely just love running around and being as silly as possible. Because here at Grace Point we believe you should be your true self, and shouldn't be ashamed of it. I love Ultimate Frisbee, starting the wave, Lake-Quidditch, being a referee, kayaking, hiking, and playing guitar in the chapel. If you ever have a good joke to tell, please do not hesitate to tell it to me. I'm looking forward to another great summer in a wonderful place! Peace!
